Healing Power of Prayer

The most wonderful ladies go to my church, the Fountain of Life Church of God. For the last 10 days I have been in awful pain from an infection under my back tooth. It started 3 weeks ago but suddenly got unbearably painful 10 days ago. My regular dentist sent me to an endontist on Tuesday. My jaw bone was so locked up that he couldn’t get x-rays. I have been having to mash a plastic straw between my teeth for the easiest way to drink but that is how little I could open my mouth. So the endo numbed all around the tooth and joint. Not only did it hurt to open my mouth but  I physically could not do it. It was locked up. He numbed it…numbed it more…made me sit and massage it and open and close it. Finally he got 2 x-rays, thank God because if he couldn’t get them than I would have to come back the following week. Then he tried to get an x-ray of the other side it was locked up again so that didn’t happen. I have not eaten real food or slept more than 2 hours at a time for the past 10 days. When I wake up in the morning I want to pull my head off because the pain is horrendous. My face and neck swelled on the right side and my lymph node was the size of a tennis ball.
So back to the wonderful ladies at my church. Kathleen Hendrix was on the platform to start singing a song and said to me “Amy, we are singing about the blood of Jesus. He shed his blood to make us whole. (But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5). She told me to place my hand over the infection as we sang. Then when we started singing Sister Michelle got up and anointed me with anointing oil and all the ladies came around me and prayed. After church we went to Walmart and we came home and I wanted a snack. I ate chips and salsa. I could not believe I could eat chips. It was a very slow and careful process but it worked. Then I realized my mouth was opening to where I could just insert my index finger between my teeth and my lymph node was down to the size of a golf ball. Last night I slept 8 hours straight through without waking in extreme agony and having to take pain medication. Now today, my lymph node is about half the size of a golf ball. My mouth can open slightly larger than the thickness of my index finger. The raw spots under my tongue and around my tooth are gone. And the pain is probably down 45 percent. Praise God for His healing and praise God for those that pray for others. James 5:16 says “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”
